We were delighted to be asked to attend and present our design proposals for the Strathearn Arts building at the Forum for the Arts and Heritage in Strathearn alongside speakers from Perth and Kinross Council and Historic Environment Scotland.

The event was held in the Strathearn Arts auditorium that was built in 1816 and operated for eighty years as a civic hall and auditorium, hosting dances, dinners, concerts, and lectures. The proposals seek to bring the listed building back to its former glory as a key civic and cultural building for Crieff and its surrounding area, whilst making the building fully accessible to a wider range of audience, performers, and staff. Our approach to the interiors has been inspired by the original timber panelling in the hall and nods to the significance of trees in the Perthshire landscape. As at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, these panels will be finely tuned acoustically to give a high-quality environment for performances.

We’re looking forward to working through the next stages of this project with the Strathearn Arts team and the wider Strathearn community.
